IPC is more than standards!

In the past, many countries in Europe had national standards for electronic hardware production, but with increased outsourcing, expanding international trade and political environmental directives like RoHS, international standards have become more important. Here, IPC is fulfilling a vital role for small, middle-size and multinational companies. 

A common opinion about IPC around Europe is that IPC standards consist of one book (IPC-A-610D, Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies) and that’s all. The truth is that the IPC concept consists of four major legs, i.e. standards, training, certification and membership. IPC is made stronger by the thousands of hours of volunteer time contributed by individuals throughout the industry.
